Design Titan Agrément Certified Septic Tanks are designed to separate and settle the solids present in raw sewage leaving the resultant liquor to be absorbed in the soil. A genuine 3 stage settlement tank minimises the risk of solids carry-over and ensures a long term maintenance free sub-system. The tank should be emptied once a year. Model Selection The size of development defines the capacity of the tank required. Refer to Titan for capacities greater than 9000 litres The grade of the tank required depends upon the invert level only.
Siting The following should be considered when siting the tank and dispersal system:

AGRÉMENT CERTIFIED Products for the next generation |

Soil Porosity To establish the overall length of a drain run required a soil porosity test may be necessary. The following procedure should be adopted.
To ensure even distribution it is important for the land drains to have a uniform gradient of no more than 1 in 200 |
Pumped Systems
In circumstances where it is necessary to lift the effluent to a higher level for dispersal, we can provide a standard pump package for fitting after one of our septic tanks. This package comes complete with glass fibre pumpwell, fully submersible pump, automatic float control and all necessary internal fittings.
Installation In all cases the tank should be seated on a firm concrete base. For a dry well drained site, backfill should be 10mm rounded pea single or similar. If the site is wet with poorly draining soil then the tank should be backfilled with concrete, filling with water at the same time to prevent flotation. Effluent Dispersal Where the water table and the nature of the soil allow satisfactory absorption, dispersal should be by means of a sub-surface irrigation system. Treatment Plants Where discharge is to a ditch or water course (subject to Environment Agency approval) further treatment is essential. Details of the comprehensive range of Titan Biotec sewage treatment plant are available on request. |
